تحتل القيم مكانة أساسية في المنهاج الدراسي المغربي الجديد الذي تعود جذور إصلاحه إلى الميثاق الوطني للتربية والتكوين، حيث يعتبر مدخل القيم من المداخل الرئيسة إلى جانب مدخل الكفايات والمضامين، فلا معنى للعملية التعليمية التعلمية دون مساهمتها في ترسيخ القيم الإنسانية النبيلة في نفوس الناشئة، وبناء على ذلك تم تجديد المناهج والبرامج والمقررات الدراسية ومنها مناهج مواد الاجتماعيات وخاصة مادة التاريخ.
