إن السماع َمظنَّةُ التعويل وقدَّاحة التأويل وحرزٌ من التحويل وطارد للعي عن جنبات الدليل، به يلقي النحاة بالمعاذر على أبواب المسائل، وتُرْكَز به الأصول وتسبغ الفصول، ويطلب به للوجه مخرج من معترك محصور، فراق على أدلة النحو كما يروق المسك على دم الغزال، وأنزله النحاة مُبَوَّأ استئهال على أدلة النحو جمعاء، فإذا استووا معه في الاستدلال وتخريج الوجوه وركز الأصول ومَدِّ الفروع، حتى صاروا كَفَرسَي رهان، زاد السماع بالدليل المأثور، واكتفى سواه بالدليل المعقول. سَنَكِدُ وكدا الى بيان أحوال دليل السماع في علم النحو من حيث مزياته وطرائفه في التأصيل للدرس النحوي، وما يفضل به عن الأدلة الأخرى.
