تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن أثر التفخيم – بكونه ظاهرة صواتية مرتبطة بطريقة نطق فونيمات معينة – على الكلمات في اللغة الأمازيغية ( تمازيغت)، من الناحية الدلالية، بالاعتماد على مقارنة دلالة الكلمة في حالة الصامت المرقق بدلالتها في حالة تفخيمه، سنقتصر على إيراد نماذج كلمات تحتوي (صوت الزاي) من أمازيغية منطقة تنغير بالجنوب الشرقي للمغرب لتأكيد صحة فرضية أن التفخيم في الأمازيغية ذو وظيفة تمييزية يؤدي إلى تغيير المعنى.
